“much bureaucracy. board/office disconnected from house/members. required labor and meetings for ALL tenants. prices raised each semester. common spaces kind of dirty, but not near as bad as other co-ops. your room will likely be very dirty when you move in.”

“Rent, amenities, and utilities are fair especially because it includes food (lunches and dinner) which not many people realize. The main thing about living here or coops in general is the community. If you want to keep to yourself and not participate well I would suggest you live somewhere else. Based on my experience here there are different levels to where you can get involved. You can cook and clean and that’s it, you still have to interact with people. Or you can get super involved and help run the place, which is the route I took and it was extremely fun and fulfilling.”

“I’ve heard about co-ops from a friend, then I looked them up and researched them myself.. It’s good for the price you pay, but don’t expect anything luxurious. I’m happy with having my own room and sharing a bathroom with my roommate, but it’s definitely not anything fancy and you’ll have to do labor to keep the co-op running (cooking, cleaning, etc). It's also only $335 for the whole year! and food is included in the price! (previously submitted for Laurel House Co-op)”
