“500 deposit for parking but you get it back. Not a clean or modern apartment-style place. It kind of looks like a prison, but when you make it your own, it works out. It's the definition of “at least you have a head to rest”. You're required to do two hours of labor in order to live here. Labor includes: taking care of plants, cleaning walkways, cleaning elevators, cleaning the laundry room, etc. The CO-OP has 3 sections, which is why we're called the Super Co-op. The first and second floors are Laurel, the third is Nueces, and the fourth and fifth are Halstead. Nueces is the only section of the building where rooms have their own kitchen, and everyone has their own restroom. All the other floors have a communal kitchen, and as part of their labor, they also have to cook for everyone else, depending on what's on the menu. All of it is student ran so there is drama, but we do report to a main office.”
